We’re delighted to announce submissions for the seventh annual Scottish Independent Comic Book Alliance Awards are now open.

Since its inception in 2011, we’ve dished out 32 awards to everyone from up and coming comic creators to seasoned pros who’ve all made their mark on the Scottish comics scene.

On July 1st, we’ll bring that total up to 38.

Starting today until May 1st, we’ll be accepting submissions. The shortlist will announced on June 20th. The awards will be held after this year’s Glasgow Comic Con on July 1st.

The awards are open to comic book artists, writers, colourists and publishers who’ve created or published a comic book, collected trade or graphic novels published (physically or digitally) between May 2016 and May 2017.

Like last year, there will be five categories. Entries will be shortlisted by a SICBA submission panel and a separate judging panel will choose the winners. Unlike previous years, there will be no public vote.
